Poker Beginnings Continue .....
I now was setting goals for myself.
1. Have enough success to never have to deposit
2. Reach 1K
3. Piss off my co-worker
Well, my next level went well. I was making money and my bonus dollars were converting faster than ever. I shared these goals with my play chip friends. What I found out was that the order of my goals wasn't ordered correctly. Aided by my co-workers poor money management and in turn financial woes, I ended up accomplishing #3 first. One day he comes over to my office with five crumpled dollar bills asking me to transfer him five bucks. I told him, "I never deposited any money. The transfer of real money isn't an option on my cashier screen". He says, "Oh yeah". Then he proceeds to storm out of my office.
Another co-worker asked me when I was going to move up the tables. My response was that I didn't feel comfortable with my bankroll. Eventually, I moved up to the .10/.25 tables, and goal #2 was achieved. When I hit $1,200 I moved up again. I had good success and peaked at $1600 at the end of 2006. But, as I found out, the gains at these tables are HUGE, but so were the losses. My bankroll took a hit. So, I decided to take a break and move down on the tables and straighten my game out. My bankroll is getting better and what I am finding out is goal #1 has been reached also.
I don't enter many $$ tournaments. But, when I do I use my Ultimate Points to enter them. I have cashed in a number of these. So, my first thought of being able to make money from this site without ever depositing was actually possible.
My play is much better. I still have my "Donkey Days", but I think we all have our donk moments. Also, I'm just having fun playing the game and constantly learning to add new wrinkles.
